FINAL. TRILL

Early in this year, I learned the importance of using certain angles to help make your messege more clear.  You can see that in my first film, I didn't really follow a certain shot list because there were certain clips that didn't seem like they were supposed to be there. I realize now that if we had a certain planned shot list then it would have made it a lot better. In my second project, I learned how to overlay and insert clips so that they will be placed properly for the film. You can see this is the cyberbullying video we made. I found this quite difficult to understand because of all the complicated directions and understandings but after a while it sort of explained itself.  Another concept that was hard to get used to was over the shoulder shots. I was hard to wrap my head around filming someones questions and responses all in one clip. Filming without having the feel for the shot you're filming felt weird, but in the end it all made sense. I believe I used most of the things I've learned in this class on my final video.  So in a way the final video served it's purpose.  It made me remember and utilize everything I've learned and made me squish it all in to one film.  Thank you for making me a better film maker. I can't wait to do this in the future.

The positive comments that were most meaningful to us were from Kelsey, John, and Joselyn. (two different posts, not a pair saying one thing).Kelsey told us that she liked a lot of our angles and our zoomingand that was helpful becausewe weren't quite sure if anyone would like them or if it would even be effective at all. In addition, John and Joselyn told us that our beep sound effect was cool, and that helped us see that kids our age like potty mouths.
The two best suggestions we got were from Jake and alex,  and John and Joselyn.

Jake and Alex suggested that we turn up the sound because they couldn't hear the funny parts. We agree with this suggestion, and our plan to address it is to turn it up!John and Joselyn suggested that we add music to our walking part and just to add music in general. We agree with this suggestion, and our plan to address it is to possibly add some tunes that fit with our video.

The value we are trying to represent is the value of honesty.  We think our group did well because we used what would seem like a real life situation.  We still need to tweak the editing and titles a bit but other then that it is golden.  What we would like is feedback on the volume of some clips.  The voices could have been a little louder and more clear.  The only challenge we really faced was how to express honesty using a simple, down to earth, method.  Stealing a friends chocolate milk.

What my group did before we planned our shot as pretty much nothing.  We just read the lines a few times and went from there.  We realized that we should of talked over what the true emotions would have been if we were in that situation. 
Regarding the rule of thirds I don't believe we really followed those rules.  It wouldn't have been that hard but I guess we just forgot.
I feel that the OTS shots made our characters feel more relatable.  Thier impressions were enhanced.
With the dialouge since we didn't express real emotion forthe situation I feel that the dialouge wasn' that good.
The tone is kind of an excited but more of a confusing one.

Cyberbullying video Reflections

What I am most satisfied with in my video was how we had a serious tone throughout the entire video up until I get beat up by cardboard cell phones. When hearing feedback for our video it was very helpful to hear that we pretty much had our video as good as we can make it but knowing that there was little tweaks to make it better. Some changes we made on our rough draft to our final was having the music at a more serious tone and keeping it at more of a serious level. With a subject as serious as this it was kinda needed. I would have really liked to have re-shot the scene where I get beaten up because I feel we could have done a better job knowing more angles and effects. Overall I'm satisfied with our video the way it ended up because it got the messege across just fine. Making videos can help get your messege across in so much more ways then just a lecture because it gives you examles on so much more levels then just a person standing and talking.

5 things I learned about cyberbullying

What I learned film wise from the cyberbullying project was different kind of transitions and effects to make your messege appear more stronger.  Also certain angles can make the shot you want seem more dramatic and alter moods more efficient then if you were to use plain old shots.  When addressing the theme or messege of your video it is important to keep the right attitiude that your video is trying address.  When the mood is serious it is essential to keep your mood as straight and serious as you can.  Another thing that makes your video seem more proffesional is when interviewing people make sure that you interview the right person for the job.  People who don't relate to the subject you are trying to prove won't be very useful to your messege.
